Premier League 2018-19 is up and running. As the teams gear up for Gameweek 3, we have made a list of predictions. Will Manchester City retain the Premier League title or is it finally Liverpool’s year? Who’s going to finish in Top 4 come the end of the season?

Premier League 2018-19 Champions?

Manchester City. Will it be a cakewalk for Guardiola’s team? Probably not. Man City won Premier League 2017-18 with ease. The race for Premier League 2018-19 trophy did not quite go down to the wire as Man City won the title with 5 matches to go.

Guardiola’s side broke a number of Premier League records including biggest winning points margin. They broke their arch rivals Man Utd’s 1999-2000 season record of 18 points.
Manchester City lost just twice in Premier League last season. Liverpool ended City’s unbeaten run in January. Man Utd won against City in a remarkable fashion with Pogba scoring twice in second half.

Man City’s biggest rivals for Premier League? Liverpool. Why? Liverpool thrashed Man City not once but thrice in 2018. Liverpool stopped Man City’s unbeaten Premier League run and knocked them out of Champions League.

Liverpool’s front 3 caused havoc last season and they did not take much time this season, however, the concern comes from LFC’s summer transfer business. Jurgen Klopp strengthened the squad in all areas and the squad depth is unreal. Liverpool purchased Alisson, Fabinho, Keita and Shaqiri in the summer transfer window.

With Man City’s talismanic playmaker Kevin De Bruyne out for atleast 3 months, it will be interesting to see how they line up. Only time will tell us how much Manchester City will suffer without De Bruyne’s presence.

Who will finish in Top 4 this season?

Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea. The first two names are, well, obvious.. As far as Manchester United is concerned, the players look clueless on the pitch, however, the performances will improve without an iota of doubt.

The decision to leave the name of Pochettino’s Spurs might come back to haunt but the lack of signings makes Chelsea favourites for that 4th spot.

Who flies with the Golden Boot?

It will be very difficult for Liverpool’s superstar Mohammed Salah to replicate last season’s form. We are going with Sergio Aguero. If he remains fit for the whole season, he will fly away considering how ruthless this Argentinian forward is.

Player of the Year 2018-19?

Sadio Mane or Sergio Aguero. Sadio Mane does not have the baggage of matching last season’s form like his teammate Mohammed Salah. He has fired three goals in the first two Premier League matches.
