  • Bundesliga table toppers Dortmund and struggling La Liga side Atletico Madrid lock horns in Champions League clash

Atletico Madrid will be hoping to get the revenge for a tough 4-0 defeat they suffered two weeks ago at Signal-Iduna-Park. They will host Borussia Dortmund in the reverse fixture of the Group A derby at Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.
The visitors will stay at the top of the group standings even with a loss here as they’ve been brilliant so far in the competition. Due Schwarzgelben are three points clear off Atletico Madrid and they have a superb 8-0 goal difference coming into this fixture at Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.
Dortmund are really flying high under Lucien Favre this season. They top the Bundesliga ladder as well with seven wins and three draws from ten rounds. Dortmund beat Wolfsburg 1-0 this past weekend whereas Atletico Madrid had to settle for a draw against Leganes.
The match played in late-October was the first ever head to head meeting between these two sides.
Raphael Guerreiro was the man who stole the show netting the second-half brace, while goals also came from Axel Witsel and Jadon Sancho. Favre played with Marco Reus as a “false 9” on the occasion as team’s top scorer Paco Alcacer skipped the match.

Diego Godín, Diego Costa, and Koke all missed Atletico Madrid’s 1-1 draw with Leganes at the weekend and remain doubts ahead of Tuesday’s encounter with Borussia Dortmund.
Lukasz Piszczek and Mario Gotze have both been included in Borussia Dortmund’s travelling squad but Shinji Kagawa will not feature for the German side.
Christian Pulisic has become something of a forgotten man at Dortmund this season following the emergence of Jadon Sancho and Jacob Bruun Larsen but will push for a starting berth in midweek after the aforementioned duo fired blanks at the weekend.
Maintaining a fine defensive form will be quite a challenge for the hosts given they are up against the red-hot attacking line of Dortmund’s once again. After all, Atletico felt the strength of BVB’s attack two weeks ago. Dortmund bagged three or more goals in seven of last eight games in all competitions and we can’t see them as underdogs here at all.
