Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) host the Delhi Capitals (DC) in match 13 of IPL 2019 at the PCA Stadium in Mohali tonight.
Current wooden spoon holders DC have got off to an excellent start (W2, L1) playing some exhilarating and entertaining T20 cricket. As a team, they have compiled 545 runs in their first three matches, with Prithvi Shaw (130 runs, ranked sixth after Saturday’s double header) and Rishabh Pant (114 runs, ninth) scoring the bulk of them.
They are looking to extend their three-match winning streak and their head-to-head supremacy over DC that stands at 13-9 in their 22 matches played. Of the six matches played here between the two, KXIP have a five wins to one advantage.
KXIP (W2, L1) go into this match on the back of a convincing eight-wicket win over Mumbai. They have both Chris Gayle (third for most runs in 2019 after Saturday’s matches) and Mayank Agarwal (seventh) flying high in the most runs chart, in addition to Hardus Viljoen (13th) and Mohammad Shami (17th) prominent in the wicket-taking list with three apiece.
These two lament the worst all-time records of all current IPL franchises, but have both started this campaign as though they could have a chance of reaching the qualifiers.
Fantasy Cricket- Players to watch out for
David Miller (KXIP) has smashed 83 sixes in 71 matches, and has one of the highest strike rates in the competition (148).
Kagiso Rabada is also prominent in the race for the Purple Cap, with five wickets at 19.40 apiece (economy rate 7.71 runs per over).
