  • DC vs SRH T20: ProSports11 Preview, Predicted 11 & Fantasy Cricket Tips

The ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam takes centre stage Wednesday night as the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) face off in a Eliminator Final. One team will have their season ended, while the other moves onto Friday’s second Qualifier.

A relieved SRH enter the playoffs having been forced to watch as mere bystanders Sunday as KKR failed to take fourth spot. But that’s now the past as coach Tom Moody looks to solve the absence of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow (1,137 combined runs in 2019) at the top of the order.

Is it time for Kane Williamson to move back into a top-three position? In 2018, he dominated in the opener / number three role by scoring 735 runs to clinch the Orange Cap. With injury and a continual rotation of his batting position this year, his run tally is just 128.

DC enter the playoffs with strong end of season form under their belt having won four of their last five matches. And while this season is the first year under the ‘Capitals’ slogan, two more wins and the tag of being the only franchise not to appear in an IPL Grand Final disappears.

While Prithvi Shaw has somewhat struggled in his last 11 at bats averaging just 14.70, his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan has been superb averaging 48.00 over the past month.

In the two contests this year, each team won playing away. SRH comfortably chased down DC’s score of 129 by five wickets in Delhi, before the rematch saw SRH skittled for 116 at home when chasing a modest 156.

Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer (C), Rishabh Pant (wk), Sherfane Rutherford, Colin Ingram, Axar Patel, Chris Morris, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma, Trent Boult.

DC vs SRH T20 – Players to watch out for

Sandeep Lamichhane (DC) has been in and out of the team like a yo yo this season, but when he has played he has looked dangerous (eight wickets – average 26.25). If he gets selected, the ACA-VDCA pitch could be right up his alley.

Rashid Khan (SRH), meanwhile, continues to do what he does best, take wickets. It’s 15 now @ 24.73 with an economy rate of just 6.56.

Stat Attack

From nine prior IPL matches at this venue, the team batting first has failed to reach a score of 140 on four occasions.
SRH’s average powerplay score of 55.90 this season leads the competition.
DC have a poor 29-47 overall record when batting first in the IPL.
