  • Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Capitals T20: Tips for your ProSports11 Fantasy Team

Two teams that missed finals action last year, the Mumbai Indians (fifth) and Delhi Capitals (eighth) square off Saturday at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in the second match of the season’s first double header.

Last season was definitely a season to forget for the Delhi franchise but with the off season bringing new ownership and a change of name (now known as the Capitals), a new era of IPL cricket in the nation’s capital begins.

With a batting line up that includes Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Colin Munro, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant (all posting career IPL strike rates of 130 or better), look for a very attacking game plan this season especially in the powerplay overs.

Despite winning three of their last four matches, Mumbai fell one agonising win short of playing finals last year. With that it seems pace bowling will be the team’s strike weapon in 2019 with Lasith Malinga (the IPL’s all time wicket taker) added to a squad that already includes Jasprit Bumrah, Jason Behrendorff and Mitchell McClenaghan.

From 22 prior H2H matches, these two teams have an 11-11 split, but there is a clear home ground advantage for the Indians holding an 8-2 record. Delhi have won four from six when batting first against Mumbai, while losing the toss may also be advantageous for them having won 75% of such matches.

Fantasy Cricket- Players to watch out for

Rishabh Pant (Capitals) not only had last season’s highest individual score of 128*, he also produced the most sixes (37) and most fours (68). Can he replicate such impressive feats?
When it comes to the IPL, there are few who can match the striking prowess of Rohit Sharma (Indians) – IPL’s 3rd highest run scorer. Add to that his role as captain and once again the fate of Mumbai rests in his hands.

Stat attack

The average first innings score at Wankhede Stadium is 187. Delhi have an 11-30 record as the betting outsider away from home. Mumbai have a 42-34 record when winning the toss.

Ishan Kishan recorded the second fastest fifty last year in just 17 balls. Shreyas Iyer hit 28 runs from one KKR over last year tying him for most runs hit from six balls faced.
