ICC World Cup 2019, India vs Bangladesh ODI: ProSports11 Fantasy Cricket Tips – Playing XI & Pitch Report

A side that hasn’t played in more than a week against a side that is playing its second match in three days. A side that is very much dependent on other results for a semi-final berth versus a side that is virtually assured of a top-four finish. Bangladesh vs India in the 2019 ICC World Cup (WC) couldn’t be more contrasting.

The heartburn over India’s loss to England that complicated their knockout chances aside, Bangladesh have a score to settle with India. Forget a H2H record that reads 29-5 in favour of India: recent games including the 2015 WC encounter and the Asia Cup final have been closely fought, although Bangladesh came up short on both occasions.

It is now between Pakistan and Bangladesh to topple England for a top-four spot in this WC. Two wins in their last three matches and an impressive fight in that loss to Australia should give confidence to the ‘Tigers’. Regardless, history is against Bangladesh, as they have won consecutive WC ODIs only twice before. Tellingly, both of those involved at least one associate nation.

The loss to England stripped India of their unbeaten status, although they are still in charge of their destiny. However, captain Virat Kohli will be worried about a number of issues that have started to surface. An opening duo that is slow to start off the blocks and a middle-order that is struggling to get bat on ball – England’s loss highlighted the soft underbelly that Bangladesh can easily target.

SRs of 91.26, 80.80 and 69.07 for MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav and Rahul, respectively, tells the story of their struggles. The addition of Rishabh Pant (32 off 29) gave some momentum against England, while Hardik Pandya (SR 140.60) continues to show the power in his wiry frame. Regardless, India look to be a side missing a couple of pieces in their jigsaw puzzle.
