  • CSK vs DC Qualifier 2: ProSports11 Preview, Predicted 11 & Fantasy Cricket Tips

After breaking their IPL playoff jinx with their first win in five attempts, Delhi Capitals (DC) will hope to get over their traditional nemesis Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who have won ten of the last 12 H2H matches.

However, CSK will be wary of their diminishing returns, having lost five of their last seven games. Batting remains CSK’s biggest worry, with just one batsman in the top-15 batters of the season.

CSK are playing at this venue for the first time after 2012 and will hope for the pitch to turn. Imran Tahir (23 wickets) has been their standout bowler, while their spinners have taken 55 of the 90 wickets that CSK bowlers have picked up this year.

Delhi remain the form team of the tournament, having won five of their last six. Although that lone loss was to CSK, and they have won just six of their 20 H2H matches, DC can take comfort from their neutral venue H2H record, which is a more competitive W2, L3.

Unlike CSK, DC’s batting is their strength, led by captain Shreyas Iyer (SR 122.28) and Rishabh Pant (SR 163.63) compiling 450 runs each. Indeed, with representatives in the top ten lists of most runs, wickets, economy and strike-rate, DC can be a banana peel for CSK.

CSK vs DC T20 – Probable XI

Chennai Super Kings

Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina, Murali Vijay, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni (C & wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Deepak Chahar, Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir

Delhi Capitals

Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer (C), Rishabh Pant (wk), Sherfane Rutherford, Colin Ingram, Axar Patel, Chris Morris, Amit Mishra, Ishant Sharma, Trent Boult.

CSK vs DC T20 – Players to watch out for

Suresh Raina (CSK) didn’t have a great season to boast (Avg. 26, SR 126.82), but gets one more chance to prove his worth.

Prithvi Shaw (DC) had only one 40+ score in ten matches prior to the eliminator. Having found his range against Hyderabad, he would look to capitalise.

Stat Attack

CSK have the best winning rate (65%) among all sides, in matches they start as favourites (65 out of 100).

With a 64.04% win-rate when winning the toss, CSK have a great affinity with the coin. CSK have won two of the three second qualifiers they have played so far, one against DC in 2012.

Six of Delhi’s ten wins this season have come when batting second.
